Cambay Onland CB-ONN-2010/11

Survey activities like Acquisition, Processing and Interpretation (API) of 3D seismic data has been completed. Based on results of 3D seismic API, 7 exploratory wells were drilled resulting in two oil discoveries. Development activities are completed and block is put on production since March 2023.

Cambay Onland CB-ONHP-2017/12

PEL has been granted w.e.f 25.07.2019. Drilling of one well against MWP has been completed and the block is under relinquishment.

Rajasthan Onland Block RJ-ONHP-2021/1

PEL has been granted w.e.f 30.11.2022 for the period of three years. As per the Revenue Sharing Contract, drilling of Two (02) Exploratory wells is committed during Initial Exploration Phase of the block. Tendering activities related to drilling and testing activities are in progress to complete the MWP within the timeline.

  • GAIL(India) Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) on 9th April, 2025. This strategic collaboration would cover joint evaluation of overseas upstream Exploration & Production opportunities for Joint venture participation of Indian companies towards India’s energy security. Future aspiration and pursuing of Overseas opportunities for Producing/Near to Producing assets.
  • GAIL has been appreciated by DGH/MoPNG in the UrjaVarta Conclave for its exemplary performance in small E&P field operations in Galiyana field, Gujarat.

A brief detail about the inception of Galiyana and its accolades (reference from Urja Varta)

  • GAIL has become third PSU after ONGC and OIL to produce crude oil as Operator.
  • Galiyana field is a single well crude oil producing field awarded in NELP-IX block CB-ONN- 2010/11 located in Anand district Gujarat in a 21 sq.km ML area.
  • The current production from Galiyana is from One well. The well is producing since March 2023 through SRP and currently producing @20 BOPD.
