Independence Day was celebrated at GAIL with patriotic fervor. The entire country was draped in the festive mood. And, GAIL was no exception. In fact, this celebration created the momentum for the "GAIL Day" celebration on the following day.
Hundreds of GAIL employees got together at all GAIL locations for a string of celebrations to mark their country's Independence. From Chandigardh to Chennai, GAIL employees weaved the thread of unity, peace, and prosperity and pledged to dedicate themselves for over all development of the nation.
The 59th Independence Day has been observed at GAIL Agartala with usual gaiety and enthusiasm from employees and their families members. The Tricolor was unfurled by Sh.Rajendra Tiwari, DGM-OIC at both Agartala office and NEEPCO terminal and addressed the employees and their families members and informed about GAIL's progress in different fields.
The Fifty-ninth Independence day was celebrated with full vigor at Agra.
GM (O&M) -UP, Shri P. N . Prasad hosted the 'Tiranga'. In his mentoring speech Shri Prasad appealed to employees that they should dedicate themselves to achieve the organizational goals. The employees should work hard to develop themselves in the interest of the company as well as the nation. Various cultural events were also organized to mark the occasion and sweets were distributed amongst employees and their family members.
Ahmedabad Zonal Office celebrated 58th Independence Day at Ahmedabad. The Zonal General Manager, Shri. S.Venkatraman, hoisted National Flag, which was followed by National Anthem & GAIL Geet.
While addressing the employees & their family members The ZGM, highlighted the achievements of GAIL & the challenges ahead, he emphasized the need for more cooperation among various functional units and to develop team spirit keeping in view the competitive environment.
The ZGM, congratulated all the employees for their efforts in maintaining effective & efficient performance standards and stressed the need for the continuous improvement.

Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August, 2005 with great zeal and enthusiasm at GAIL, Babrala. The function was organized at Terminal compound. Sh. Niraj Prakash, Deputy Manager (GAILTEL-O&M) unfurled the National Flag followed by National Anthem.
The function was attended by a large number of GAIL employees and there families members. During the occasion, Deputy Manager (GAILTEL-O&M) reminded the importance of this Day and urged to all present there to be dedicated and responsible citizen of India.
Finally, snacks and sweets were distributed amongst all gathered.
Chennai Zonal Office has celebrated 59th independence Day on 15th August,2005 in a befitting manner. All the employees were present on this Occasion. Shri R.V.Subramanian, Dy.Gen.Manager hosted the national flag followed by singing of National Anthem. Dr. S.K.Saha, Chief Manager (Mktg.) addressed the Independence Day gathering.
The programme was concluded with distribution of sweets to all employees and their family members who were present on this occasion.
The Fifty-ninth Independence day was celebrated with full zeal and zest at LPG Plant, Gandhar. A large number of GAIL employees and family members were present. The Chief Guest (DGM-O&M) unfurled the National Flag followed by the National Anthem. The OIC addressed the gathering and highlighted achievements of GAIL and ongoing projects. A game of scintillating volleyball was played between CISF & GAIL, in which CISF emerged victorious.
Brunch was served in the canteen and sweets were distributed to GAIL, CISF, and Apprentices and to the large number of village children who had joined in.
In Hyderabad, GAIL Hyderabad Zonal Office celebrated the Independence Day with zeal and enthusiasm. Gracing the occasion Shri R C Arora, ZDGM, HZO who unfurled the National Flag called upon employees to unite and work together to build the nation. Mr. Arora, in his Independence message, said that India is shining in the 21st century and scaling new heights of development. He also briefed the gathering about the changing market scenario for GAIL and initiatives taken by GAIL in the direction of growth and development.
GAIL Jamnagar celebrated GAIL foundation Day with great pomp and show. The function started with the cutting of the cake by Shri. N.K.Agarwal, DGM/OIC and other senior officers. This was followed by the address by Shri.N.K.Agarwal.
In his address Shri. Agarwal recollected GAIL'S progress from its modest beginning with HBJ and its rise to dizzying heights as a Navratna PSU in such a short span. He emphasized the contribution of all employees in this great achievement. He spoke about the challenges head of us in this fast changing environment and the need for adapting to the changes not only to survive but also to scale greater heights.He also emphasized the dedication and commitment of one and all in GAIL'S vision. This was followed by in house progrmme presented by wards of employees and concluded with dinner.
The Fifty ninth Independence Day was celebrated with full gaiety and enthusiasm at GAIL Jhabua. The Main function was held at the grounds of Kendriya Vidyalaya , GAIL Township. National Flag was unfurled by Shri P.K. Bhatnagar, Dy.G.M (Gas-O&M)/OIC.
The students of Kendriya Vidyalaya in a festivous mood presented a cultural program and brought the different colors of rich traditions of our states to the lush green ground of Kendriya Vidyalaya. Different aspects of difficult life at Jhabua were also presented through a lively but simple play. Finally, sweets were distributed amongst the students.
The Fifty-ninth independence day was celebrated with full vigor at the City of Nawab's, Lucknow. All the employees of GAIL were present on this occasion with their family. Mr. T K Gun
(ZGM, Lucknow) hoisted the National Flag. Addressing the gathering on the occasion he highlighted the achievements of GAIL and appealed to all employees to work with absolute dedication so that GAIL can usher in a new era of development. He emphasized on the policy of "Survival of the fittest" and asked all to work in team spirit with shoulder to shoulder.
"Courage is not the absence of fear, it is the will to go along with the fear" this is what the people of Mumbai have proved right on the occasion of 59th Independence Day. Ignoring the fateful events of rain fall and its aftermath, which claimed the lives of hundreds of Mumbaikars, they took part with dogged determination to pay tribute to the freedom fighters who laid their lives for the Mother India. Even the monsoon rains did not dampen the spirit of the employees of GAIL and their family, who were present on the occasion.
Mr. A.K Purwaha , ED-HR unfurled the National Flag and explained the saga of India's development over the last 58 years. While delivering the speech , Mr. P K Gupta, ZGM Mumbai, stressed the need for development in India. He further asserted that, in spite of technological advancement in India, there is still much room for improvement as far as the facilities for food, drinking water, education and health are concerned and rightly finished by stating that "Miles to go before we sleep". Various dance and song performances were presented by the children of the employees, which was widely appreciated by all present there.
Similar zeal was seen at the Independence Day celebration at GAIL gas O&M NCR office which was celebrated Independence Day at the Desu Terminal. Exhorting the employees of the competition ahead, Shri S Ghosh ED (Gas & M), the chief guest, in his address to NCR employees and their family members, emphasized that there is need to put in dedicated efforts for sustaining the growth of the company. He applauded the management initiative taken in the field of technological upgradation to meet the changing demands like e-invoicing, e-payments, BWS, FMS, GMS, etc. which will bring efficiency and transparency to fulfill the demand of customers, vendors, and contactors. Various cultural events like Quiz, Antakshri on patriotic theme, Painting competition, songs and dance were organized in which children took part with great enthusiasm. Shri S S Patel , DGM(O&M) NCR presented the welcome address.
There are reports of Independence Day celebrations from all the terminals of Gas O&M NCR like Babrala, Mathura, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Dadri, Bahadurgardh, Maruti with same zeal.
In this way, GAIL, from North to South, joined the spirit of Nationalism as a true citizen and pledged all around development of the nation.
Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm on the 15th August, 2005 at Vivekanand Sports complex, GAIL Gaon with the hoisting of the National Flag by the ED & OIC, Mr A.K.Fotedar. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem by school children and the gathering present. Mr. Fotedar also inspected the guard of honour.
Speaking to the gathering, Mr. Fotedar shared GAIL's achievements and targets as well as the work in progress at various locations. He advised all employees to contribute their best towards the achievement of the goals of the company.
On this occasion, the school children of DAV public school presented colorful patriotic cultural programmes. Employees with their families attended the celebration which was followed by the distribution of sweets.
The Fifty ninth Independence Day was celeberated at GAIL, Vadodara on 15th August, 2005 with enthusiasm and fervor. Mr. A. B. Singh, Executive Director, Regional Pipeline Network Headquarters-Gujarat, Vadodara unfurled the National Flag. The National anthem was sung by employees. He addressed the gathering of employees and their families on the occasion.
Mr. Singh said that our independence is hard earned and we should contribute our level best towards the growth and development of our nation. He also shared about the competitive scenario and various initiatives taken by GAIL to face the external challenges. Sweets were distributed to the employees and their families members on this occasion.
At GAIL Vaghodia , the 59 th Independence Day was celebrated with the great patriotic fervor. All the employees and their families members were present on the occasion. Shri. A.K.Verma, DGM (O&M) & Department in charge officer hoisted the National Flag followed by the National anthem and "GAIL Geet". Mr. Verma inspected the guard of honour.
Addressing the gathering Mr. Verma congratulated all GAIL employees, personnel of Central Industrial security force, all officers and their families members on the Independence Day.
Sri. Verma, while addressing the gathering highlighted the achievements of GAIL and challenges lie ahead. He described the changing scenario of the market management and its aim, the life and social quality in the company, the ability, and high quality of production.
Independence Day was celebrated at GAIL Despatch Terminal, Visakhapatnam on 15th August, 2005 with patriotic fervor. All GAIL employees with their family members took part in the celebrations.
The National flag was hoisted by Shri R K Garg, General Manager & OIC, GAIL, Visakhapatnam which was followed by the national anthem.
The OIC also addressed the gathering on the occasion of the Independence Day. The day progressed with a colorful cultural programme presented by the children and families of GAIL employees. Prizes were distributed to the children at the end of the programme.
