R.K. Goel is Chairman of Ratnagiri Gas & Power Private Ltd

New Delhi, September 21, 2007:

Shri R K Goel, Director (Finance), GAIL (India) Limited will be the new Chairman of Ratnagiri Gas & Power Private Limited (RGPPL). Shri Goel will hold additional charge as Chairman of RGPPL which is a company promoted by GAIL and NTPC for reviving and operating Power Plant and LNG Terminal at Dabhol, earlier owned by erstwhile Dabhol Power Company. This was decided in the 33rd Meeting of the Board of RGPPL held on September 21, 2007.

Shri R K Goel, aged 56 years, is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and possesses over 30 years of experience in financial management in major oil and gas companies in India. Shri Goel is also the Chairman of GAIL Global (Singapore) Pte Ltd. – a fully owned subsidiary of GAIL (India) Limited and Director on the Boards of China Gas Holding Ltd., Mahanagar Gas Ltd. and Brahamputra Cracker & Polymer Ltd.

Shri Goel has a rich experience in the areas of project evaluation, financial appraisal of projects, and international experience of Oil & Gas companies world wide with special expertise in tariff fixation and regulatory issues.
