GAIL declares 25 per cent Special Interim Dividend
New Delhi, March 6, 2007 GAIL (India) Limited today declared a 25 per cent special interim dividend for the financial year 2006-07. The Board of Directors of the Company in a meeting today approved the payment of the special interim dividend to the shareholders of the Company in view of the performance of the Company. The Company has fixed 12th March 2007 as the ‘record date’ for the purpose of determining the eligibility of the members of the Company to the special interim dividend.
The Company had earlier declared a 55 percent interim dividend for the financial year 2006-07.
GAIL has a consistent track-record of dividend payment. GAIL has disbursed dividend of Rs.4,540.31 crore (upto FY 2005-06) to the shareholders including Government of India, which is more than five times the equity capital of Rs. 845.65 crore of the company. The Government of India has equity holding of 57.34 per cent in GAIL.
