GAIL bags Platinum Safety Award 2007
New Delhi, 23rd Februray, 2007 GAIL (India) Limited has bagged the top two ‘Greentech Safety Awards 2007’. GAIL was awarded the Platinum Award for its Pata plant and Gold for Gandhar plant. Receiving the awards on behalf of GAIL were Shri A.K Ray, Executive Director, (Health Safety and Environment), and Shri R Suresh, Officer In Charge, GAIL (Pata), at a function organized by ‘Greentech Foundation’ in Mumbai recently. Mr. Tony Smith, Executive Director (National Safety Council, USA) presented the award to Shri M C Deogam, OIC (Gandhar) and Shri R P Singh, Manager (Fire and Safety), Gandhar. The awards have been instituted by Greentech Foundation.
GAIL has been consistently recognized nationally and internationally for safety in the operations of its pipelines and plants. These include OISD (Oil Industry Safety directorate) awards for HBJ pipeline and LPG plants, awards from National Safety Council and the British Safety Council top awards also. Gandhar also won the Gold award for the Petroleum and Gas Sector.
The Petrochemical Complex of GAIL at Pata, Auraiya (UP), has already successfully achieved the milestone of crossing 14 million man hours without any reportable cases of accidents.
