GAIL declares 40% interim dividend
New Delhi, December 19, 2007: GAIL (India) Limited has declared a 40 per cent interim dividend for the financial year 2007-08. The Board of Directors of the Company in a meeting yesterday approved the payment of the interim dividend to the shareholders of the Company. The Company has fixed 22nd of December 2007 as the ‘record date’ for the purpose of determining the eligibility of the members of the Company to the interim dividend.
The Company had declared a 100 percent dividend for the financial year 2006-07.
GAIL has a consistent track-record of dividend payment. GAIL has disbursed dividend of Rs.5,385.97 crore (upto FY 2006-07) to the shareholders including Government of India, which is more than five times the equity capital of Rs. 845.65 crore of the company. The Government of India has equity holding of 57.34 per cent in GAIL.
