The LNG ship was casting off after unloading the cargo. PLL is evaluating the extent of damage and working out immediate counter measures. Mr. Prosad Dasgupta, MD, PLL visited Dahej LNG Terminal for an on the spot assessment of the extent of repair work. PLL has already approached BNI, Netherlands and TTI, UK, the designers for executing the repair works.
GAIL, main marketer and transporter of R-LNG from Dahej, has taken steps to maintain supply to customers and also evacuate gas from Hazira LNG Terminal of Shell. GAIL has also drawn up contingency plan to maintain supply of natural gas to its customers using the available stock of LNG at Dahej terminal. In order to reduce the impact of the shortage of supply on customers caused by the accident, GAIL has requested ONGC and PMT JV to augment their supplies.
