GAIL bags three OISD awards

New Delhi, November 25, 2005: GAIL (India) Limited has bagged three coveted Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) Awards for its Hazira – Vijaipur – Jagdishpur (HVJ) pipeline and Usar LPG recovery plant for the year 2004-05. GAIL’s LPG Recovery plant at Pata got the OISD award for the year 2003-04. these awards were given in the category of Cross country pipeline and Other Processing Plants.

The awards were presented by Shri S C Tripathi, Secretary, Petroleum and Natural Gas. Shri S P Rao, Director (Projects), Shri B S Negi, Director (Business Development) and Dr. U D Choubey, Director (Marketing), GAIL were present to receive the awards.

GAIL’s HVJ pipeline got the OISD award in the category. The LPG recovery plants at Usar and Pata received the awards in the category.

The selection criteria for the awards is based on the penalty rating, derived from hazard potential is based on the complexities in operations, throughput etc. The penalty points are based on the loss of lives, injuries, production loss etc. as well as the safety management systems adopted during the period.
