GAIL's annual subsidy burden drops

New Delhi, April 27, 2006. GAIL (India) Ltd.'s annual subsidy burden has come down by 6.4% for the financial year 2005-06 on year-to-year basis.

As against a sum of Rs. 1137 crores as subsidy share out during 2004-05, GAIL's current year subsidy burden is Rs. 1064 crores.

However, during the fourth quarter of 2005-06, GAIL's subsidy share out is to the tune of Rs. 538 crore.

Regarding the news on stock split, the company clarifies that there is neither any communication from the Ministry in this regard nor the subject matter is before the GAIL board.
