Seismic survey in GAIL's block AA-ONN-2002/1 has resumed from 27th March, 2006. The block was awarded to the consortium of GAIL and Jubilant Oil & Gas Pvt Ltd. Jubilant is the operator of the block

The Operator had mobilized an international company to carry out the 2D seismic survey in the block. While the survey was under progress, on 14th February 2006, the survey work had to be suspended due to insurgent attack at Badaniapura, near Agartala. The matter was reported to the concerned law and order authorities of Govt. of Tripura. Subsequently delegation of senior officials from GAIL visited the site and met government officials

Additional security forces have been deployed by the state and the situation has been brought under control, before resuming the work on 27th March 2006
