CMD GAIL receives OISD Safety Award for HVJ Pipeline from Shri Murli Deora
GAIL (India) Limited has received the Oil Industry Safety Directorate (OISD) Award for its Hazira- Vijaipur – Jagdishpur (HVJ) pipeline for the year 2005-06. GAIL’s HVJ pipeline has been ranked first in the category of cross country pipelines. Shri Murli Deora, Hon’ble Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas presented the award to Shri M R Hingnikar, CMD GAIL, Shri A K Purwaha, Director (Business Development), Shri M. Ravindran, GM (O&M), Vijaipur and Shri S P Garg, DGM (HSE), New Delhi.
GAIL’s pipeline networks and plants have been consistently receiving the Safety Awards from OISD. Last year too, Hazira – Vijaipur – Jagdishpur (HVJ) pipeline and Usar LPG recovery plant had received the OISD award. GAIL’s LPG Recovery plant at Pata had also won the OISD award for the year 2003-04.The selection criteria for the award is based on the penalty rating, derived from hazard potential, which is based on the complexities in operations, throughput etc. the penalty points are based on the loss of lives, injuries, production loss etc. as well as safety management systems adopted during the period.
