GAIL donates School Bus to the mentally challenged children of Chetna

GAIL (India) Ltd., Lucknow Zonal Office today gifted a school bus to the mentally challenged children of a school run by a NGO “Chetna”. At a function, organized by Chetna, the 24 seater Matador was flagged off by Dr. U D Choubey, Director (Marketing), GAIL (India) Ltd. The programme was attended by Hon’ble former Chief Justice, UP, Shri Vinhnu Sahai, Shri T K Goon, Zonal General Manager, senior officials from GAIL – Lucknow, teachers and students of Chetna.

The donation is part of Hriday - the corporate social responsibility initiative of GAIL. Under the Hriday programme, GAIL (India) Ltd. donates a part of its profits for the upliftment of the society.

Chetna is a premier NGO engaged in the welfare and special education of mentally retarded and hearing impaired children over the last 4 decades. More than 300 children are directly benefited by Chetna’s activities.

Dr U D Choubey spent a lot of time with the under-privileged children and complimented the teachers and administration of Chetna for their exemplary work. Speaking on the occasion, he said that GAIL was proud to be associated with the Chetna parivar and would like continue the association in the future as well.
