Polymer Consumers’ Meet at Chandigarh Zonal Office
Chandigarh Zonal Office organised Polymer Consumers’ Meet on Thursday, December 21, 2006, at Chandigarh.
The meet was graced by honourable Chairman and Managing Director Shri M.R. Hingnikar and Executive Director (Marketing) Sri J. Wason
The meet saw overwhelming participation by polymer customers and representatives of all other products; from Chandigarh and around – from as far as Panipat (Haryana), Parwanoo, Baddi, Solan (HP) and Ludhiana, Rajpura and Jalandhar (Punjab) as well as by senior government bureaucrats
The C&MD was accorded a warm floral welcome by the OIC Zonal General Manager Shri C.A. Rashid while Chief Manager Petrochemical Marketing greeted ED (Mktg) Shri J. Wason.
he OIC Shri C.A. Rashid welcomed the guests of the evening and made a presentation giving a brief but comprehensive overview of GAIL in general and the activities of the zone in particular.
Two informative presentations were made by special guests Shri B. Rathod, Senior Manager, PCM, Corporate Office – who discussed the prevailing international as well as the domestic sales scenario in the polymer industry and Shri R. Yadav, from GPTC Noida who briefly touched upon the new product grades being developed by GAIL.
The meet was addressed by both the C&MD and the ED (Mktg).
Customers were apprised of progress achieved on the gas pipeline front by the ED (Marketing) who also expressed his optimism on the tremendous potential of the zone in expanding as a market for various GAIL products.
The C&MD discussed future options of exploring and sourcing gas. He highlighted GAIL’s progress in the arena of polymer production mentioning that the company had, in a short span, developed a market of satisfied customers and mentioned that the premium price tag on GAIL’s products was worth the premium quality. The C&MD acknowledged the excellent customer presence and the absence of complaints as the indicators of a satisfied customer base.
This was followed by an interactive session with the customers who were forthcoming with their queries and suggestions. The customers’ queries regarding GAIL products – which related primarily to pricing, availability and policy - were duly responded to and taken note of.
