GAIL donates infrastructural facilities to the Blind school at Bangalore
Shri M R Hingnikar, Director (HR), GAIL inaugurated the infrastructure facilities at Shree Ramana Maharishi Academy for Blind. GAIL had provided Rs 5.5 lakh to procure computers, sports equipment and furnishing of Dining Hall to the Academy for Blind, as a part of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
Speaking on the occasion Director (HR) said that GAIL has provisioned 1% of the profit of the company for CSR activity and this is GAIL’s small effort of showing its concern for the society. He appreciated the activities of the Ramana Maharishi Academy and thanked Mr T V Srinivasan, the founder of the School, for taking up such a special cause of helping visually impaired children to be self dependent.
Earlier on March 1, 2007, Shri Hingnikar inaugurated the Physiotherapy Unit at Seva Bharati, Mangalore, wherein GAIL has donated Rs 2 lakh.
GAIL has set up an Air Pollution Related Disease Diagnostic Centre (APRDC) at Rajiv Gandhi Chest Institute in Bangalore to combat pollution related diseases. GAIL has also supported Akshayapatra foundation and Sumangali Sevashram at Bangalore.
