Jaipur - Chess Tournament Concluded

The 6th Pink City International Rating Chess Tournament, one of the oldest and popular Chess tournaments of Jaipur was conducted from 24th to 31st of Jan 2007. GAIL was the proud sponsor of the prestigious event.

The prestigious GAIL trophy was won by Master Nikhil Shyam, who claimed a hattrick by bagging all the three titles of sub juniors, juniors and seniors, a first in any International rating tournament. Mr A K Mittal, ZGM-JZO, GAIL & MD (Rajasthan JV), was the Guest of Honour for the Prize distribution ceremony. Mr Ashok Parnami, Mayor Jaipur City, Mr. Girdhari Lal Bhargava, M.P, Jaipur; Meenakshi Mishra Accountant General Jaipur; D V Sunder, Secy All India Chess Federation, Rajesh Chaturvedi -Area Incharge BPCL, other dignitaries, Officers from GAIL were also present on the occasion.

A total 250 players from India and 10 players from Israel, Pakistan, Bangladesh & Nepal participated in the tournament.
