The chronology of events in GAIL’s entry into GAILTEL sector is as follow....

1987:
GAIL commissions HBJ microwave based network.

1997:
GAIL commissions its first OFC based network – GREP – 670 km.

1999:
New GAILTEL Policy identifies GAIL as a GAILTEL infrastructure provider.

2000:
GAIL commissions its JLPL OFC network – 1300 km.

JUNE 2000:
GAIL board approves GAIL’s entry in GAILTEL.

JAN. 2001:
GAIL obtains first Infrastructure Provider Category II license.

JUNE 2001:
GAIL leases bandwidth to Bharti through the first service level agreement.

JUNE 2002:
GAIL commissions its Phase I network – 1700 km.

JUNE 2002:
GAIL takes Category ‘A’ Internet Service Provider license.

JUNE 2005:
GAIL obtains IP-I registration from DOT.

FEB. 2007:
GAIL obtained LOI for NLD licence.
