Joint Ventures Overseas

• GAIL has invested a total of about Rs. 100 crore by way of equity participation in three Egyptian companies: Fayum Gas Company SAE, Shell CNG SAE and National Gas Company SAE. These operate in the CNG and City gas sectors in Egypt.
• GAIL has acquired a 8.5% stake (for Rs. 132 crore) in China Gas Holdings Ltd to explore opportunities for city gas distribution and CNG activities in mainland China. GAIL will soon have a presence in three Chinese cities - Wuhu, Huinan and Xichang. GAIL is in the process of forming a joint venture in China to pursue opportunities in the Natural Gas sector.
• GAIL's wholly owned Singapore-based subsidiary, GAIL Global (Singapore) Pte Ltd., handles its overseas investments.
