The Healing Touch – Programmes in Health Care

GAIL’s investment in Health Care programmes has made a significant impact in terms of providing better healthcare to the under-privileged section of the society. Some of the important CSR initiatives taken under this Head include provision of Ambulances, organizing medical camps, providing wide range of medical equipments like TMT machine, operating microscope, ECG machines, Haemodialysis machine, X-Ray machine etc to various hospitals.

One of the proud achievements of GAIL is its mobile health care outreach programme, in and around two of its major operational centers-Pata in Uttar Pradesh and Vijaipur in Madhya Pradesh. These programmes have shown a very positive outcome, specifically in terms of increased health awareness among the local village populace and greater participation in promotional health camps focused at family planning, safe motherhood, maternal nutrition, infertility, adolescent reproductive health etc.

As part of its routine healthcare programmes in communities around its townships and projects, GAIL has undertaken several healthcare projects like Reconstructive surgery for leprosy patients, Eye care cataract surgeries with IOL implants, Cancer screening camps, family planning camps, T.B.eradication programmes, malaria camps with treatment and free medicines and, health check up camps. GAIL’s own hospitals & dispensaries in its townships extend medical care & treatment to the local villagers.
