Shri Santosh Kumaris an Electrical Engineer from Motilal Nehru Engineering College, Allahabad. He has over 33 years of extensive experience in fertilizer, telecommunications and oil & gas sector. Shri Santosh Kumar started his career as a faculty member in his alma mater and later on branched into the fertilizer sector, effectively combining theoretical and practical aspects of the industry. He has rich experience in working at HFCL, Namrup in Assam, Indian Telephone Industries, UP before joining GAIL in 1985. His experiences also range from being a shop floor manager in a process plant to being the Head of Training at Gas Technology Institute and heading the HR functions of GAIL as Executive Director (Human Resources) before taking over the reins of Project Directorate.

As Executive Director (Projects), he was steering the completion of two mega pipeline projects namely the Dahej Uran Pipeline and Dabhol Panvel Pipeline Project.
